The "enable asio direct monitoring" option in the device control panel does not seem to make any difference the high performance mode (primarily for using the audio inputs) seems to cause the system to crash. This interface delivers 8 inputs, 8 outputs, high-speed USB 2.0 connectivity, DSP mixing/effects, and eight preamps. The system has occassionally blue screened - pointing at the driver when I've "adjusted" the device control panel with Hauptwerk running. Use the Fast Track Ultra 8R to record drum kits and full bands on all eight inputs simultaneously, with superior 24-bit/96kHz high fidelity. I tried the following: unloaded organ opened the control panel set buffer size to 2048 left the panel open loaded the St Anne organ the m audio device control panel showed that the buffer size was reset to 1024! In Hauptwerk the Output buffer (not the recorder buffer) is set to 2048. I've tried chaning the ASIO buffer size (in the driver control panel - which can't be accessed from Hauptwerk I am unconvinced that this change has taken place since the "5152" message does not change. #M audio fast track ultra 8x8 driversWhile software and hardware drivers can be updated. The audio device works with the 64 bit Basic Edition using the "Direct Sounds" dirvers - which only provides access to two channels of output. There are drivers for this for Windows 7 64 bit which I have downloaded and installed from the M Audio web site. I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit and in preparation for moving to Hauptwerk Advanced Edition to have multiple outputs, I am trying out the M audio Fast track Ultra USB device.
